Ashton is a seasoned Lighting and Sound designer with extensive training and professional experience. He specializes in lighting and audio design for Concerts, Musical Theatre, and Dance performances. Ashton's vibrant lighting design for Mesa Encore Theatre's production of "Hairspray" recieved an ariZoni Theatre Award nomination for "Best Lighting Design." He also received a MET Award in the "Best Lighting Design" category for "Spring Awakening".
His recent projects include the Off-Broadway productions of "Wringer" (A2), "The Bad Years" (A2), "Tick, Tick... BOOM!" (A1/Supervisor), and "Ernest Shackleton Loves Me" (Sub A2/IEM Programer). In addition to being a freelance technician, Ashton is on staff at Lincoln Center Education as an Electrician and Sound Engineer. Recent sound design credits include AEA Showcase "The Vanity" (Theatre Row), the reading/recording of "Medicine The Musical" (Daryl Roth Theatre), "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" and "A Chorus Line" at Marymount Manhattan College.
